Well Practiced In Disobedience

It's sometimes hard to fathom why God puts up with our disobedience. I do have a theory as to one possible explanation. I think that God tolerates our disobedience because it is good practice for us to disobey other things. Think about it. God is the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth and every single thing found in them. He has all the power. And more importantly, He loves us with a fierce and unquenchable love and is working constantly for our good. He knows everything and can give us perfect advice and can tell us exactly what we should and shouldn't know to have a great life. And yet, somehow we find it in us to disobey Him. Isn't that kind of amazing? The Supreme Being of the Universe can flatten mountains and spill out the seas and burn the whole world down to ashes and we tell Him right to His face that we aren't going to obey Him. That is incredibly bold. Incredibly bold and incredibly stupid. We know that if God asks us to do something, that is the exact best possible choice we could be making. It'd be like we are on one of those game shows with three doors and behind one of them is a brand new car and the other two doors have nothing behind them and God opens the door and says, look, you can see the car through my door, pick this one and somehow we think we are better off picking one of the other doors. So, if we can find it in ourselves to disobey God, then it should be so much easier to disobey Satan, or our addictions, or our tempers, or our dubious friends who try to pressure us into doing something we know is bad for us. Standing up to anyone or anything must be easier than standing up to God. And turning down anyone or anything must be wiser than turning down our Heavenly Father who only wants what is best for us. Next time we face a choice between disobeying God or disobeying literally anything else, let's do ourselves a favor and do the easier thing, the less scary thing, the less masochistically idiotic thing and obey God.
