Water Water Everywhere
“When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the Lord will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them. I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.” (Isaiah 41:17-18). What I love about these verses is that we can be at any point in life and be dying of thirst for the Living Waters and God will hear us. We can be on top of the world but still be dying inside and God will open rivers in high places. We can be depressed and staggering through the valley of the shadow of death and the Lord will open fountains in the midst of our valley. We can be wandering for years in the wilderness and the Lord will make a pool of water for us. Whether our life appears to others as if we are crushing it or slowly being crushed by mediocrity and failure, the Lord will give us His living water no matter what is going on in our lives. He will not forsake us at any point in our lives. Wherever we are, however long it's been since we've prayed or fasted or studied our scriptures or felt worthy, if we are thirsting for the living waters of Jesus Christ, He will hear us if we will just open our hearts to him.
